Apple Inc. wants to get Tidal, a streaming-music service run by rap mogul Jay Z, according to folks familiar with the matter.
Apple is plotting the idea of bringing on Tidal to boom up its Apple Music service because of Tidal’s strong ties to hard major artists such as Kanye West, Rihanna, and Madonna.
The talks are ongoing and may not result in a deal, these folks said. Terms of the potential deal are unknown.
